Creative Worship, Family Time, and Fine Art

Intrigued? I hope so.

This is what Shechem Ministries and our subsidiaries are all about. We long to worship God in our daily lives minute-by-minute and to do so with others is an awesome bonus.

We struggle with our busy family schedule and the decisions of which activities our children will participate in and which they cannot because we’re just too busy. Even before we had children we knew this was an issue for most families thus Shechem Ministries was born.

We offer two events a year planned to give families the opportunity to enjoy a vacation unlike any other. First is the Family Retreat where the whole focus of the weekend is to have time to play as a family unit. We worship, we relax, but mostly we play and glorify our Father in doing so. Second is the Family Creative Worship Retreat where the entire weekend is spent worshipping our Savior in out-of-the-box ways. The goal is to take home a few ideas about how to worship outside of church as a family.

Shechem has birthed two new ministries as answers to opportunities given us. Square Top Repertory Theatre is a professional Christian theatre company who performs for the month of July. The company is comprised of professional theatre directors and actors as well as college students. They are volunteers working for the summer.

Shechem Press is our newest branch and is a direct result of a need presented at our Blanco Dove Artists and Writers’ Conference. The Press exists to help new Christian authors of varying genres to publish their first work so that following pieces will be more quickly picked up.

Not only are we actively ministering in the States in these ways but we are also taking Shechem and Square Top Repertory Theatre to South Korea this August. God has opened doors and we are faithful to walk through as long as He holds them open!
